What To Expect: We'll examine and play-test your instrument at no charge. We can often give you an estimate of repair cost on the spot. If further examination is needed, we'll do it promptly and call you when we're done. We'll provide you with a firm estimate of cost and time. There is no charge for this service.
 
Your instrument is insured while it's on our property, and will be handled with care. Once repairs are complete, we'll call to let you know.
 
  • Guitar family restringing/tuning: $15.00
  • Guitar family restringing/tuning and cleaning: $22.00
  • Guitar family setup $65.00
  • Luthier services quoted by the job
  • General repair services such as pad or mechanism adjustments, sealing leaks, valve cleaning: $88 per hour
  • Cork tenon replacements (sax neck, clarinet, oboe joints, etc.): $20
     
    Our Guitar and Bass Repairman Beau Chadinha, a master luthier with extensive training and experience is our repair professional for guitars and basses requiring specialized work. Bridge work, crack repairs, neck adjustments, fret filing, and all manner of luthier work can be brought to us. Bring in your instrument. We'll provide you with a price and time quote, with no obligation. You can choose all recommended services, some - or none.
     
    Our General Repairman Brian Charles, a NAPBIRT member and the owner of North Conway Music Shop has over 25 years experience repairing all types of musical instruments. His expertise is backed by training at Ponte Music Company in New York City. Brian is a nationally recognized oboe and bassoon specialist for Charles Double Reed Company since he founded it in 1984. Many top orchestral musicians send their instruments to Brian from all over the US and other countries.
